Figured I'd throw something to see what if and what everyone ordered and to get the latest updates as we have them North of the border!

I ordered a Large DM R1S with an estimated delivery of Sept-Oct.

Congrats! That's a good delivery date considering they are so new. Looking forward to seeing some of the "Gen 2's" on the road

I have a voucher so cannot place a custom order hoping rivian will put some gen2 in the canadian shop over the summer. I am not able to get a confirmation from rivian on that.

Had a chat with Rivian earlier because i was wondering if they knew anythign about the GVWR and lUxury tax for gen 2 (they don't lol) but they also mentioned that even if it says Sept-Oct in the portal a more likely window for Canada is likely Oct-Dec. That said they legitimately said they're not sure, it might still be Sept but they'll know more in the coming weeks

Pricing is just insane now. I'd rather get a fully loaded Macan Turbo EV for the same price as a Dual Max R1S to be honest even though the R1 is a 7-seater. $155K Fully Loaded for the DM, $165K for the TM, what's the QM going to be $180K? jesus.

Agreed. I'm going with a regular DM with OC interior. Didn't want to go above the 130 price point.

The prices are also still a wreck in Canada. You have 2023 & 2024 DMs going for more than they are selling 2025s. Sure they've unlocked the performance element of the duals, but still not very enticing at all for anyone to take on the outgoing models.

Its obvious Canada is just a complete afterthought to Rivian after dealing with them for the past 4-5 years.

-Delay after delay (I STILL haven't gotten my manual tonneau cover after taking delivery 4 months ago while they have them in stock at my local SC).
- insane pricing
- terrible/zero communication. (Even the manager of Calgary Service Centre told me this directly when dealing with his supervisors at HQ)
- We still don't even have access to the gear shop ffs.

The market is just too small for them to care or improve things.

Totally agree with you. I'll always maintain that even if we are 1/10th of the size of the US, Rivian has an incredible opportunity here that they're wasting because their Canadian pricing is so absurd. We have a pretty sizable middle and upper class that doesn't mind spending 100k on a car but wouldn't spend 130-150. Then you add the fact that the Canadian population is much more amenable to EVs etc.... If Rivian was to just work on their pricing a little bit and get their prices down in Canada, these things would fly off the shelf.

hey, at least you can get(And have) a truck. I can't get one here without pretending I live in..almost anywhere in alberta, or vancouver, based on plugging in postal codes to the shop.

Yeah it seems they went with exchange rate plus more.

I mean Tesla isn't massively better either but they make an effort. Even lucid is making an effort for Canada.

Most other manufacturers adjust pricing based on market conditions.
