I've been asking the Rivian AI chat bot every week or so when I can order coastal cloud and forest green in August, and I actually got a new answer today. It usually has just said something like "sometime in August but August 1st isn't a guaranteed data" blah blah blah. Now it is saying August 1st is the confirmed release date. I wanted Launch Green because I never imagined with such an early reservation time that Forest Green would be available when I get to order.... I realize Rivian doesn't care about losing $500 from making me wait so long, but I wonder how many other people who will get Forest Green would've gotten Launch Green if they had been invited to order earlier....

And honestly, the only reason I am even still getting an R2 is because the wife is so supportive of it (despite the wait). If she changed her stance, I'd be at the Subaru dealership ordering a Trailseeker today.
