December 2018, originally R1T but switched to R1S. I have a feeling we'll be getting our Rivians around the same time, but I genuinely hope you're early June!
As relatively late in line as I am for the R1T, compared to your early R1S reservation (assuming you made the switch early), the dates may coincide. I just hope the factory pickup and tour is an option for all.

I have used Husky, Weathertech, and no name brands. They all do the same thing but Weathertech does it better.
The only issue I have ever had (with ALL of them) was immediately after receiving the mats, they had some deformation. Easy solution here in Southern California...just leave them outside on a hot summer day or better yet, just install them and leave the vehicle in the sun. The mats soften up and then fit as designed.
I will be installing Weathertech as soon as possible. Been using daily on all of my vehicles for the past 20+ years.

Will the Chilewich floor mats be durable like Weathertech? I know they aren't rubber, but I assume if Rivian is putting them in their trucks, they will hold up pretty well. i.e. do we need Weathertech?

I think my main reason would be for coverage, with a digital fit style type of mat I take it out, shake, rinse if needed, and good to go. The chilewich ones are waterproof and all that but I dont know if coverage will be as good and will involve cleaning a lot of the floor board if and when its dirty.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the Chilewich mats are like, but will likely keep them in pristine condition, stacked in the garage with the other OEM mats. I look at WeatherTech and Huskys like windshield wipers. They'll last a long time, do the job well, and can easily be replaced if that ever becomes a need. The originals will be safe for the next owner, if and when I ever sell it.
