Cost for 12v battery replacement nowadays

I just got a warning I need to replace 12v battery and made an appointment for next week.
Early 2023 R1S (61K miles) with two batteries.
How much would I be paying?

Just say it sucks that your warranty expired, and the 12v needs to be replaced. They will give you a discount, and you can walk out with around $500 total.

Rivian refused to discount my batteries and wanted to charge full price of $800+. Even after I told them others were getting a discount to $500.

It pissed me off. I got the sodium ohmmu batteries along with battery monitor. I replaced the 12V myself. The sodium batteries are supposed to last 3x longer than the lead acid AGM ones. We’ll see

Does the battery monitor connect to just one of the two batteries or does it monitor both?

Just one of the batteries. I connected it to the secondary (passenger) side one.

I recently took my R1 into the SC for a Rivian-prompted 12V replacement. I asked them how much this would be if I had to pay. They said $400. I also asked about aftermarket and they said you would still need software to calibrate it to the Rivian for battery monitoring. Otherwise you would continually get a pop-up warning in the Rivian. I can’t verify or debunk this but there are others on here that can.
EDIT: I have the R1 with only one battery.

It’s sad that I have to do financial planning for a 12v battery. $100 became $10 for sure.

Not sure what the discount on mine meant. I didn't ask for anything. Maybe I'm just a nice person that was easy to deal with. Mobile service done at friend's home in MN while on a road trip / vacation. December 2022 build so @kyunam you should be similar if you have two batteries as well.

As a separate note, it may be best practice to turn on "Stay on" in the camping tab, so that your 12V is continuously topped off by the HV battery and you don't come to a completely dead and unaccessible/unusable car, if you may need it. Leaving the vehicle plugged in to a 120V outlet will also work, but that may have tripped the circuit at my friend's place and wasn't noticed immediately. So although it is definitely going to waste and cost some energy, using "stay on" protects from the 12V draining completely. *EDIT* turn off HVAC for less energy waste.

As another separate note, this was my first 12V replacement after 3 years of ownership. I know some have fared worse. At least this car explicitly told me it was time--My last car only implied it when it wouldn't turn on.

I installed the Ohmmu Sodium batteries and have not had any warnings pop up in the last three weeks. Vampire drain has also decreased.
