Sorry, probably been answered somewhere before. Have experience with how Tesla does their updating. Is Rivian the same way? I keep getting e-mails about the newly released update, but don't have it on my truck. Assuming it will pop up to install on it's own? But figured I'd ask if there's anything I need to do besides having it connected to Wifi at home? My truck says the software is up to date, but obviously it's not if the dog mode update has been released?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. My newbie status is now clearly visible front and center!

Rivian follows the Tesla strategy of slowly rolling it out to vehicles in batches. You'll get the notification that its available eventually.

You will get an alert on your phone and on the truck when it is ready/available.

No understanding on my end on how they roll them out.

10-4, thank you. Assumed it would be similar to the Tesla, but wanted to be sure, just in case there was a way to manually ask it to search for any available updates as we can do on our computers and phones. Had always wished Tesla would do the same, but they never have. We're like kids at Christmas time with these notable feature updates. At least that's the way it was with the Tesla. Assuming it will be the same for the Rivian and others. Torture some of us by showing what's been released, but then having no idea when you'll actually get it. "We're sending you Christmas gifts, we're just not going to tell you when!" LOL.

Anyway, thanks again for the replies. I don't leave my pets in the car, but considering I use my truck for work and am in and out of it 20+ times a day, it is a feature I used quite a bit in the Tesla to keep everything from baking inside the car/truck during the 30-45 minutes I was outside of it. Certainly a useful feature.

Didnt see this answered yet...It will download to your truck automatically when it is available/released to your VIN.

You will however have to manually start the update. You will be able to kick it off from the main display or the phone app. The truck is not usable while it is updating so they let you decide when you want to cripple it ?

Short term fix, since pet mode is arriving, but I noticed today that if you leave your truck in 'show mode' (Settings > Vehicle > Service > "Show and Tell On"), the climate control will stay running (plus the screens, music, lights if on).

Yes, you can still lock the doors.
