The Bluetooth in the door handle failed and key would not work. This was somehow linked to the air compressor failure. Rivian service did not know why they are linked. But worked now.

But when went to pick it up the tire sensors show up as a failure, so had to leave another few days. Service says no connection with Bluetooth/air compressor failure, but who knows …….

There's no BT in the door handle, that's NFC. And they are correct that the TPMS is on a whole different system and frequency. What is related is that everything in a modern vehicle is computer controlled, and freakouts happen. Ford famously had an issue where leaky tail lights would fill with water and kill the engine computer or some other computer control.

Bluetooth is used for the fobs and PaaK. NFC is the card proximity connection in the doors (and center console on gen 2). UWB is used for gen 2 fobs and PaaK.

All totally different.

There actually is a Bluetooth module in the driver's door handle.

Now I gotta go find the radio diagrams. The SC told me the driver's side BT module wasn't in the door, but the pillar. Door makes more sense because I have many unwanted locks while doing things in the bed with the phone in my pocket.
