Thanks for your question and thanks for buying a ticket! We have sold over 60 tickets to locals in the first two weeks of our raffle. In a rural, conservative town of only 10,000 people, that's pretty good. We wanted to show strong local interest before taking the raffle national the week of May 20.Wow you’ve only sold like 12 tickets. 60 days to go. What will you do if you don’t sell 5000?
Per the EAC raffle rules, we have to sell 675 tickets to break even (RIvian + website + advertising). If we should not sell 675 tickets by July 13, then we will refund all ticket holders their money back. So, the prospect is risk-free to those who buy tickets.
Of course, we hope we do better than 675 tickets, and we're optimistic that folks around the country will embrace our goal of building out solar and EV charging in a rural community. If we can do it here, then hopefully we can inspire other similarly-sized southern and rural communities to embrace decarbonization through electrification, renewables, and electric transportation.
