Nah, all about clearing inventory. When a new and better model comes out the old stuff is worth less. But they still need to sell it. It's better to sell it for 20% off now, getting rid of OPs coupon than wait until it's officially old stock and they need to give someone 20% off next month (effectively creating a new 20% coupon)

Agree - it is all about clearing inventory before the refresh comes out. I also believe Rivian has a few surprises for the refreshed R1 just like they did with R3X. They do not have enough inventory of pre-refreshed R1 to satisfy all remaining 20% voucher holders out there - something to consider.
