Has anyone used the portable charger at a Washington State Park camping site? There are a number of campsites with 30 amp electrical connections...shared experiences appreciated.

A bunch of times. Each site may vary. Had good experience with a 50 amp connector in Wenatchee Confluence and Bayview. Did not do so well at Cape Disappointment, had to switch to 20 amp but it charged the truck. Cape D was my first experience towing a trailer and it was about 215 miles or more of a trip. Long story short, I charged a few times the way there and made sure I was charged before getting to the camp site. It was a long trip. Last day I plugged in and had enough charge from the 20 amp to have a shorter journey back. Lesson learned is to plug it in no matter what if you can, 20, 30 or 50 amp. Just do it.

You may get a bad receptical. Parks will refund the cost of the site if it doesn't work, you tell them, and they don't fix it.
Curious as to your trailer choice...something I'm also thinking about...

We plan to start using the RV spots once we get our R1T. Upside is we’ll be able to charge for about $5-10, since that’s the general premium over the “primitive” tent sites we typically use. Downside is the hookup sites tend to be more loud and less private than tent sites. Perhaps we will try it and hate it. Perhaps we’ll end up getting a trailer ?

We don't have our Rivian yet, but we've successfully charged our EV from 50A outlets at Fort Flagler, Deception Pass, Seaquest, Millersylvania...and, uh, several others but I'm not good at recalling exactly where.

The 50A outlets are 240V. The 30A outlets are only 120V, so quite a bit slower, but there are places that have 30A but not 50A, so it's still a good option to have.

We tow a Safari Condo Alto A2124 that is 21' long, about 3,000lbs and pretty aerodynamic. It has a kitchen, bathroom with shower, almost king-size bed, and a separate dinette. More details in THIS thread.
