Electronic Title Trade In?

Curious if any of you know the answer (guide hasn’t responded yet). I own my Tesla and in Arizona the DMV holds the title electronically (they don’t automatically send a paper copy and have an electronic transfer process for dealers). Do you know if Rivian will be able to handle electronic title transfer or will they only accept trade in with a physical paper copy of the title? I’m supposed to take delivery this Saturday so trying to urgently find out.

We don't have electronic titles here in Michigan but did have to sign something to give them power of attorney for purposes of doing the title work on our trade-in. I didn't touch our paper title personally, just handed it over to them.

I have experience with this. Order a paper title. E-Title transfers in AZ are for person to person sales between AZ residents.

I learned this the hard way when selling my 2012 Model S just before taking delivery of my R1T.

Paper titles arrive pretty quickly.

Thanks. Guide also responded. Looks like you do need paper copy of title so I’m probably just gonna sell my vehicle outright as the offer even with taking taxes into consideration is a decent amount lower than if I just sellout (albeit with probably more headache)
