Rivian is acting like Tesla which is such a huge turn off. If I wanted to be treated like submissive fanboi by a car company, I would have bought a Tesla a long time ago. Rivian needs to up their game and treat people better than Tesla, otherwise companies like Kia will put them out of business.

Similar to Tesla’s FSD subscription.
Right. According to the website, FSD is a $9,000 upgrade to Enhanced AP, or you can pay $99/mo. That's a 7.5 year breakeven, though most likely a lot less because the monthly cost will surely be increased over that time.

It's a $15k upgrade from Basic, or $200/mo. That's a 6.25 year breakeven.

What if Tesla or Rivian (if they follow suit) make such software upgrades (boosts, FSD, enhanced autopilot, extra range, etc) follow your accounts instead of permanently with/to a vehicle? It may be a worthwhile investment - pay once and it follows you when you change vehicles every so many years or so. Makes/keeps you hooked to a brand/company.

Would you be more willing to spend say $15k-$20K for something like this?
