Error Message-Limited Power

Ive had my R1S 2 weeks as of today and yesterday I perfromed the update and was driving to work today when all of a sudden I heard a noise and it felt like something happened to the brakes or motor and I received an error code of limited power and 2 yellow pictures popped up, a car with a circle around it and a car with skidding brakes and the car wouldnt drive over 3 miles. Thankfully I was on a street and not freeway and I was about a mile from work. I called Rivian and they had me do a hard reset and that didnt' work so now I'm in a sleep mode and waiting for a call back. Has this happened to anyone else since the update?

Sorry to hear that happened. Do you remember the update version you recently did? Was it 2023.30.0? Knowing that might help find others who did the same one.

I haven't read here of any specific battery or power issues after that update and I added it myself a few weeks ago. Hopefully the sleep cycle can get you back on the road?

Was it a popping noise?

not really a popping noise but more of a grinding noise like on an ice car and you put the car into gear and your on a hill, if that makes sense? lol
Update: sleep mode didn't work and It had to be towed. NOw wiating to hear from SC

I didn't have any noise, but mine did go into limp mode after the update. I did all the resets and the sleep reset finally worked, but the next time I drove it, it happened again. It is currently at Rivian getting checked out.

I got my car back on Tuesday, thankfully it was not the drive motor but the 1/2 shaft that goes into the motor. (It is responsible for the torque in acceleration and the regenative braking) It was the front left shaft. They do not know if it was installed incorrectly at the factory or if it was defective. They drained and replaced the motor oil and installed a new shaft.

Yup Axle half shaft is what i was thinking. Glad they got you fixed up.

Yeah. All the time, it just isn't going to fix a broken mechanical component like in this case.
