I’ve had my R1S for a couple of weeks now and love it. I live in an area with a lot of hills so I really utilize one pedal driving and I rely on regen braking…a lot! It does a great job of slowing down the vehicle and I give enough following distance to let it do its job taking into account this is a really heavy vehicle and it takes a lot to slow down.
But with my steering wheel placement and my line of sight, I don’t always see the notifications on the driver display when regen is reduced. I get surprised often when I need to slow down and regen braking is reduced…again, the hills. What would be great is if Rivian would duplicate the notification of reduced regen braking from just the driver display to also be on the center display. I would most definitely see the notification better if it is duplicated someway/how on the center display.
I’ve been surprised too many times now when I need to slow down quickly and regen is reduced and it takes a lot to slow down a R1 even with ample following distance. So now I’m constantly double checking that the orange notification isn’t on the driver display. There’s got to be a better way.
Wondering if Rivian could consider this in an upcoming update?
