I’ll take an imaginary hit n run over an actual one all day long
Agreed.

Slightly off topic:
When my previous XC90 was fairy new, we went to the 60's Cafe and Diner for lunch near our Lincoln City home. It was the weekend and parking was tight. Instead I parked around the other side where there is a huge, mostly empty parking lot. We parked waaay away from everyone. We came back from lunch to find a POS, beat up, multiple primer grey truck parked so close to my left side that I had to get in through the passenger side just to move the XC90. There was maybe 2 inches between the right side of the truck and my left side of the XC90. There were no other cars near the two of us! By getting into the XC90 from the right side, I never saw the damage to my left rear quarter panel.

We drove over to a beach access we like and I stepped out of the SUV. This truck had a homemade aggressive front bumper made of iron that did a number on my XC90. The ENTIRE left rear quarter panel was destroyed. Pissed, I drove back to the lot, only to find the truck had now moved closer to McMenimans Lighthouse Brewpub. I found chunks of my rear quarter panel, complete with paint, still on the iron bumper. I called the police, and they said they were simply too busy to respond to a non-injury accident. I then called my insurance company (GEICO at the time), and provided the license plate and photos of my damage and the paint and pieces of my rear quarter panel that were still on the truck's bumper. They implied that I must have hit the truck when I was backing out.

Geico was so nice that they refused to do anything about the fact that the truck had done what they had done. Instead, they told me that since both parties had Geico as their insurer, that I would have to pay the deductible. But wait, it gets better. I drove my XC90 from Lincoln City to Beaverton Auto Body and Paint at the recommendation of Volvo. When the Geico rep finally showed up TWO WEEKS LATER, he tried to lowball the repair of a really new XC90 Hybrid T8 (the Inscription package).

[Edited. I removed this section as it came across that I had a grudge against someone with a disability. I do not. However, when a teenager driving their disabled parent's vehicle uses that to cover their actions? Yeah, that's never going to cut it with me.

Oh, and "Stay Off My Lawn!"]

It makes me nervous about getting the R1T. Seems there are folks out there that think nothing of messing up your ride because it's a nice ride.
