Backstory,

I signed up for a demo drive on the Rivian website. I went into their Miami location and test drove an R1S. All was well, the person we spoke with was kind and gave us a brief overview of the vehicle before allowing us to take it for a test drive. Upon our return, the person provided their business card and told us to contact them if we had any other questions. Throughout the week, we were able to exchange some emails and all was well. While browsing the Rivian website Friday afternoon, the specific build I was looking for popped up as part of their inventory vehicles. I attempted to call back and speak with the employee we met in person for their assistance but presumed they were no longer there for the day as their number was going to voicemail. I sent an email as well, but being Friday afternoon I wasn't hopeful for a response.

Long story short, I ended up placing the order online and placing the $1,000 deposit in an attempt to not lose the specific build. Later that week, I received a phone call from a Rivian Guide from an off-site (different state). The original person I met and spoke with at the Miami location stopped responding to all my emails and questions.

Was I ghosted because I didn't make the purchase directly through them at their location. Thoughts???
Rivian doesn’t have dealerships.

People are still confused by this. You can’t buy from them directly. There is no commission or sales staff. You were probably dealing with a delivery specialist.

I too had a bad experience there and felt ghosted. Lack of communication and failed delivery attempts ultimately steered me away from Rivian until the latest deals where I’m back again giving them a 3rd chance. This will be it for me though if Rivian and the Miami team manage to mess it up again.

I haven't lived in Miami in a long time but have family there, and this is pretty much the attitude I perceive from the entire area. Nobody gives a shit, nobody wants to work, and customers are just an annoyance in their otherwise quiet day.

That said, there's another thread here saying that they fired most/all of the guides.
