GPS not consistently "waking" causing issues with auto locks

With one of the recent updates (not sure which one), I've noticed something weird. A few times, I've gone out to my truck after leaving a store and noticing that my truck is unlocked well beyond when the proximity should unlock. Each time, I also noticed that the left box on the drivers display is empty where the GPS would normally be. If I rotate through them, the other 2 screens work but the GPS one is blank. If I change the main screen to the GPS, everything seems to "wake" and the box on the left hand side seems to work fine. The GPS tracks fine when awake and I don't have to do a reset to get it to wake, just bring up the map on the main screen.

What I think is happening is the gps is "sleeping" while at home, then when it doesn't wake, the truck still thinks it's at home so it doesn't trigger the auto lock on walk away. Once the GPS is woken up, it works fine.

For now, I've just changed the home setting to "only lock" so that I don't leave my truck unlocked by accident and get stuff stolen.

This behavior happened to me once after the update where I noticed the car did not lock when I walked away with paak. However it did not happen again after that one occurrence. I did not do anything to try and fix it. This occurrence also happened with my wife's iphone. no issues with my android

With 2024.31.01, I started having problems with proximity at home (car wakes up and mirrors extend when I walk by at home), and then away from home (stopped locking when I walk away from the car). In an attempt to fix it, I did a soft reset and now have lost all navigation - both on the driver's screen and the center screen. Different problems than you, but I do think there is some GPS location bug.

I have been having a similar problem for the last couple of weeks. My settings are Proximity lock/unlock ON with the home setting to OFF. The home off setting no longer works. It wants to lock/unlock everywhere. I have tried multiple resets to no avail. I also have the empty map box on the driver’s display. My truck is in for service, today, for a few other things. I mentioned this issue to them. We’ll see what happens. Others have reported this issue, so it must be a software glitch that Rivian needs to deal with. Oddly, I was given an R1T loaner and the small map box on that vehicle is also MIA. Go figure.

Update:

Today, I got my Rivian back and the first thing I noticed was that driver’s display map box option had returned. Then, when I got home, all my proximity lock settings were working again. I realize correlation is not causation, but it’s odd that both functions corrected at virtually the same time.

They did nothing that would have affected the issue. In fact, I didn’t even mention it to them until I was picking my truck up. Let’s face. It was a miracle ?
