Hi All,
I am looking at purchasing the auto retractable running boards for my Gen 1 R1S from Hansshow, product description below:
https://www.hansshow.com/products/rivian-r1t-electric-running-board-lhd-22

I am looking for any recommended installers in CA Bay Area. Hansshow store is in SoCal so driving there to install these is not practical.

Any suggestions welcome!

I am attempting to self-install these myself. It is not difficult. It requires tapping into two wires behind the footwell panel. Problem is it doesn’t retract when the door closes. Their customer support is non-existent and is based in China…. which means they are available when you are sleeping and their English is very poor. The chap I spoke with had zero technical knowledge about the installation.

Their system does not work on 2025 Rivian R1S. It is not difficult to install. If you own a 2025+ Rivian R1S do not buy the Hansshow system. There is a version on eBay that utilizes magnets applied to the doors.

Actually, I just posted a new thread (titled: 2025 R1S - Hansshow Power Side Step Rail Issues), where I'm experiencing a lot of issues with the installation of these on a Gen 2 R1S. Despite the website saying they're compatible, Rivian made some significant changes to the R1S that renders the installation manuals and YouTube videos useless. Because what the manuals describe and the videos show are all from a Gen1 R1S vehicle.

A few examples (besides my critical one in my post) include: Not having a rubber grommet in the firewall to allow for the passing of the wiring into the passenger side footwell. Tapping into the wiring loom on the right side of the passenger footwell (you have to remove the black plastic trim) was absolutely crazy....trying to find the right colored wires in a loom of about 50 small wires, many of which are the same colors as the ones you're looking to tap into.

Honestly, it was a very very difficult install, and I'm still not finished with my client, as we haven't been able to figure out how to resolve the issue I spoke about in the thread I started.
