I had the exact problem with the alarm. Thanks to Dark-FX’s photo I was able to locate and to pull the string without removing the cover (By stuffing my 200 pound body through the tunnel) from the inside. After opening the door the alarm stopped! Thanks for the help.

I had the same gear tunnel issue....the car thinks the passenger side is open and limits the use of the vehicle to 14mph while beeping continuously. I can open the driver side tunnel, but the passenger side would not open.

I will segway a bit and say how terrible Rivian service is in dealing with this issue....the soonest they'd send a mobile service car out would be a full 8 days. No offer for a rental car, nothing, don't really seem to care at all.

Anyways, I'm too big to fit into the gear tunnel and I was about to give up. But I tried this....I opened the gear tunnel access from behind the center hand rest of the rear seat. I have pretty long arms...I'm able to reach the emergency release button on the passenger side of the gear runner, pressed it and the gear tunnel opened. I closed it and the error message went away. Working great now. Hope this helps.

Last Wednesday I started getting a message that the passenger side gear tunnel door and tailgate were open, and I was limited to 13mph. I did a infotainment reset, then a hard reset and still had the errors. I called roadside assistance and they didn't know what might be the issue. Somehow, the error went away and allowed me to drive home but then came back while I was about a mile from my house. I tried to limp it home, then it just started going again but with the errors blinking.

Frustrated, I went inside for a bit then came back out and the errors were gone. I called Roadside assistance to see why that is and they think that the truck going into sleep mode is what reset the error. I accepted it and had no errors until about mid day Friday. I left it at work over the weekend and made plans to tow it. I got to work this morning and it was totally fine, in fact I drove it home so I could charge it. I'm wondering if it's a 12v battery issue because during the times I got the errors it was over 100° outside. Maybe the heat is stressing the batteries? I'm grasping right now.

I'm out of warranty so I'm going to see if I can drive it to my nearest service center early in morning while temps are cooler in the next few days (don't want to pay $700 for towing), but has anyone received any explanations for these errors?
