Highway assist after lane change.

The highway assist is archaic. You have to center the truck with one hand and depress the stalk twice.l with the other. You should only have to center the truck in the new lane and it would detect that and re-engage. Kia works that way and is so smooth and I believe safer. A chime would let you know you can safely let go of the wheel. All you have to do is steer like you would normally do.

You shouldn't need to take your hands off the steering wheel to hit the stalks, that's why they are where they are on any vehicle.

I didn’t mean to say that. I said wheel in left and stalk with right hand. Since you may not be where the vehicle wants you to be you may have to do this more than once. It may not sound like much, but the difference is pretty big. If you get a chance test drive an EV6 or ioniq it is super easy. Also when the vehicle ahead of me gets close to the lane line and i want to veer away within my lane and my truck kicks out of driver+ you have to re-engage all over. Beware some of the Ioniq’s have automatic lane change, but I hear it’s a pain and too delayed. My wife’s EV6 is a lot easier than the R1T driver+, but my R1T is a whole lot more accurate staying centered in the lane. Irregardless I love my R1T.

The need to manually re-engage after lane change is a poor design. We have BlueCruise on our Mach E and it is automatic re-engage. Mapped highways are hands free, and unmapped roads it works like Driver+. Rivian is far behind Ford and GM.
