“You were gone two hours!!” - wife

(Took 2 EV Go dispensers to charge to 85% for the home leg of the trip. First one would only do 20 kw. Switched to another cabinet (150 kw) and was pulling max 87 kw. Ugh.)

“The money we’re saving on gas doesn’t compensate for the cost of my time.”

“My RAV 4 is four years old and I’ve never had a problem with it. Toyotas are the best.” - Bro. in law

“You had to get an electric truck to look cool.” — wife

“All the DC chargers are on the East side of town. (Our family we’re visiting live on the West side).” — Me

“Subtle eye rolls “ — Family members

Any of these sound familiar? It’s a hard trail out there for the lonely pioneer EV drivers. Actually being too hard on my wife — she enjoys the ride and ability to pass at a whim, immensely. But charging stops aren’t her thing and I try to sneak off in quiet moments to plug in.
Are you the first in your family to drive an EV? Share your experiences, holiday visits or otherwise. ?

Second adopter of all EV in my family and have been at it for 4 years now. Just got my R1T 3 months ago and have owned 2 e-tron (including the RS GT) and model s plaid. Imam imminently happier and having more fun in my R1T.
I got the standard eye-rolls, laughs asking if I needed to lug in over dinner and also several really good curiosity based questions.

‘Recently took it our offroading And have done several long road trips. They are all jealous now.
