After 1.5 years, had the 'fun' experience of picking up a bolt (yes, not a nail) in my tire on the bridge in Poughkeepsie NY.
Got to the place we were staying at safely... and used all the gear for the spare ... works really well, the jack, multi-tool, Tire repair mode, etc.
For those who have not experienced it yet ...it was so cool when I decided to harden up the spare, which looks like a 1.5 inch deep slick tread, suddenly growing into a full sized tire, popping out the sidewalls. And stable at 59 lbs!
After getting the bad news from Tire repair shop that the bolt was too big for a plug (I had my plug kit) or of course the tire sealer gook stuff. With his off the record advice, and actually Rivian service on-the-record advice .... I could safely drive 310 miles back to Maine on this thing .. at 50 mphs max - a long nite last night.
Finally, to the question - Does anyone know if the spare tire is now one and done, or is there a way to deflate the very cool transformer to live again? My tire repair place in Maine has no idea.
