I think this is highly unlikely. You dont design and produce the most transformative, accolade-gathering pickup of this century and just scrap it to pump out some Bezos boxes.

Incidentally I’m closing a deal on a low mileage f150 tomorrow morning.

Prior to yesterday at 300pm-ish Mountain Time, I was just pining for a First Mile Invite as the Denver facility is only 4 miles from the house.

Now I can't drive within 1 mile from the Denver Rivian center for fear of getting hit with a surface-to-surface missile.

Here is the playbook:

1. Start with a public apology from RJ. Say stuff like, "we were tone deaf" and, "we made a mistake" and, "we eroded the trust of the very people that believed in us the most" and possibily, "that's not who we want to be, and you deserve better."
2. Make it right:
   1. Honor the pricing of everyone who preordered prior to Dec 31 2021.
   2. Offer to reverse cancellations of anyone who did so at thier prior place in line.
   3. Add in X number of free years for Rivian membership.
3. Commit to some sort of measurable engagement strategy with customers. Monthly webinars or something. Show that the voice of your customer is recognized and valued.

That's all sounds reasonable.

TBH though, none of this shit is going to happen and the situation to totally fucked.

My favorite mods to our GMC Sierra are Retrax rolling tonneau, AMP powersteps, Goodyear Duratracs which stay on year round, bedrug bed liner (spray on protects the bed, bedrug protects the gear).
