Thanks for sharing. Yeah I am a little worried about exactly what you said - I don’t need the truck to be a distraction. I hunt 54 every year and we will stay fairly mobile until packing in makes sense and end up driving through town at least once normally. If Gunnison gets a fast charger that will help a lot.
I put in my points a few years ago for a tag in 53 just on the other side of the elk wilderness. I came up empty handed as I watched a nice buck on the other side of a creek just past sundown on the last day of the season. No regrets, it’s a beautiful place just to scout.

Yeah I love the area. But I think for us sticking to one spot was helpful for success since I have learned that unit pretty well now.

I am hunting mtn goat in g12 (43 - maroon bells-snowmass) in a few weeks as well so that should be pretty excellent country for late September!

Took the truck on our annual elk hunt. Charge point Fast charger in gunnison worked fine. No range issues or any EV handicap was had. Slept in the bed a few of the nights when we were at the trucks while I wait for my GFC install.
