When I recently moved I used the bed extensively with very heavy items, things with metal bottoms/feet prone to tearing up beds, etc. I took no damage in my bed, barely even a scuff and nothing I'd call a scratch. It actually held up really well. EDIT: As I posted in that thread about the banged up bed - I secured my loads so they weren't sliding around and smacking into things constantly. Makes a big difference, I think.

Am I reading the implications in some comments in this thread correctly - some people think an R1T won't fit 4 adults comfortably? That kinda blows my mind. I've had 4 people in mine multiple times and never had a complaint over comfort. Quite the opposite in fact.

But if Rivian can deliver an R2 platform with a full size truck and 450-500 miles with the same or more innovation and the quality level of the R1T, I'll dump the Lightning in a flash.
I would not expect the R2T to be any of those things except for maybe the level of innovation. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be full size (if anything it will likely be smaller), or have longer range (likely significantly less), or the same level of refinement inside since the R2 is supposed to be more of a mass market entry level compared to the current R1 "halo" line.
