This has always been my perspective. If the vehicle shares the frame/chassis/foundation as a open bed truck, then it's just an enclosed version of that same vehicle.If it is a body-on-frame then yes, it is a truck. Essentially if the Truck and SUV have the same frame, then the SUV is a truck. I.e. Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition, AND R1S.
60s - Ford Bronco --> Half Bed Bronco
70/80s - C10 Pickup --> Blazer
90s+ - Silverado --> Suburban/Tahoe, F150-->Expedition
Rivian R1T --> Rivian R1S
They are all trucks.
