I swap winter tires and do rotation at the same time. I use a 3-ton off-road jack with a jack puck and do one wheel at a time. It works well generally speaking. However, I'd like to know if there's a jack stand I can use for safety in case the jack fails. Also, where would I need to put such a jack stand, given the corner is already held up by the jack+puck.
I use a spare wheel under the truck for safety as close to the corner as possible. I'm pretty sure that's not going to be enough if the jack fails, since there enough room for a corner to land on the brake discs.
A search across multiple forums didn't yield much.
Any suggestions?
