Kick turn help

I’ve been trying out the new kick turn feature. But all I seem to be able to do with it is dig holes with my tires. What am I doing wrong? Is the dirt here too soft?

So I went out and did a little more testing and was able to answer my own question. Net, if the ground is too soft, kick turn just digs 4 holes. The ground wasn’t wet at all, just a bit sandy. To give context, a 2 wheel drive vehicle with highway tires would have no issues with traction on this trail. Just a typical South Texas ranch sendero. Once I got to some firmer terrain, I was able to successfully do a 360. I also used it to navigate a 120ish degree turn while moving about 5 mph.

A couple of thoughts: I think the original logic for not releasing it for gen 1 vehicles of “it will damage trails” was and still is probably correct. On soft terrain, it dug the wheels straight down quickly and left some deep holes. And even on firmer terrain, it still tore up the ground pretty good. That said, it’s very cool and I think it would be useful in certain situations off road. I would think twice before using it in wet/damp or sandy soil though.

I used it for the first time on a lightly snow covered parking lot yesterday. I got quite a few stares, but it was fun.
