Leer Topper/Truck Cap coming soon ?

I just noticed a post from Rivian on linkedin for work truck week which is going to happen in Indianapolis.

Looks like they got a functioning brake light and also provision to access the buttons for the gear tunnel.

Really want the RSI Smart cap topper for the truck.

Not bad, but I like the look of the one we had a group buy. The bull bar on the one you posted makes the front look even more cartoonish.

Almost pulled the trigger on this. I was waiting on v2 improvements which either have provision to access the gear tunnel and tonneau buttons like the GFC or if it is too complex acheive may bet inspired by the Leer and have notch than accessing it from inside. I was also thinking if they incorporste some form to use weistec brackets in stead of j bolts or the current mounting option.

Thanks for sharing that information. I am just looking at the attachment point and I think we maybe able to use these with the existing design.

We can add a plate that sandwiches between the top and bottom part and bolt that to the truck cap. The thickness of the aluminum piece is 2mm, so that should be thick enough to support the load. We may need some spacer but this looks doable. I might try to later on so we are not blocking the tonneau cover now.

But wow, it's not cheap at $100 a piece.

I was thinking more in the lines of getting just the fingers from weistec and having provision (holes drilled)to hold the m4 bolts down. That way this cut out is eliminated completely and we could also bring down the price from weistec.

That rear cap photo gives me old Jeep Wagoneer vibes. It looks pretty odd. The only thing I really like about it is the color matching. Some of the angles look odd and how the rear window is radiused into a more angular opening makes for really conflicting design elements.

I guess that could be use less new materials ? Them trying to use existing components they have offshelf ?
