Lynnwood RAN Status?

As of Wed, Sept 4, the nine RAN chargers are all mounted to their concrete pedestals and the electricians are in the process of pulling feeder wires to each unit.

On the other hand, it amazes me, that there are 9 new units sitting on pallets completely unprotected from theft.

It's not like someone could install it in their garage.

The covers are off again, but still fenced off and no power yet.

Well, covers off is new.. I was there on yesterday and they still had the covers on.
It looks like there is an empty pad waiting for a power transformer to be placed by PSE.

Why Ellensburg anymore? There's are EA, PFJ, and Tesla chargers all there.

Best DCFC price and value in Ellensburg appears to be the Circle K on Canyon Road (Exit 109). $0.43/kWh, current PlugScore 10/10.

If I were Rivian, I'd prioritize other potential locations above Cle Elum/Ellensburg. YMMV.

Just a heads up, those ABB chargers that Circle K installed will derate at 10 minutes as they are air cooled cables where that have a time based boost mode.

You can also charge at the PFJ with bluedot for IIRC $0.43/kwh as well.

Thanks, @SeaGeo, for the information about de-rating of Circle K's ABB chargers!

As far as I could tell, the Circle K peaked maybe 5 minutes into the charge at 164 kW, then stepped down to about 110 kW around 45% SOC (as the battery heated up), then stayed above 90 kW for a long time. I was satisfied with the charging speed and I thought the R1T was controlling it.

Our big problem that day wasn't the charging speed. While the R1T was charging, we were walking from restaurant to restaurant trying to find a strawberry milkshake for a family member who had just had oral surgery and couldn't yet eat solid food. So we were very satisfied with the charge at Circle K.

Should be SnoPUD in Lynnwood - so the wait should ideally be less than PSE.
