Hello forum- long time lurker making his first post. I’ve been waiting for a much longer time than most for their truck as I really want the max pack and want nothing to do with the powered tonneau. I have been given the standard “1st half 2023” delivery estimate. In the past two days I have received two emails telling me to get ready for purchase and I now have a guide. The email reads in part “… we’re excited that your R1 is almost ready to go.”
My general question is that I’m wondering if anyone else with a similar config getting these emails? Has there really been some Great Leap Forward that should make me believe that my window has moved up 6 months? Your thoughts are appreciated.
Probably want to tempt you with other configuration for a chance At a truck SooNer....

I can only think of three reasons why they don't have a manual tonneau yet. It is a premier "selling point." Second, it's more expensive so they make more money off of it (if you don't count all the associated costs of it breaking on 90% of trucks). Third, they pre-ordered a bunch in anticipation of them being popular and need to get rid of inventory.

Manuals, on the other hand would be cheaper to produce, easier to install (so take up less time on the line), not break all the time, and would be good enough for 90% of truck owners.
Agreed on all points, except the part where they are making money off of it (even if it didn't break all the time).
