Max pack order invited to R1T Shop. Again...

Changed my max pack+quad to an R1S, asked my guide when I could expect to see the R1S in the shop and she said "probably not for a while". Several hours later I was granted access to an empty R1 shop.

There hasn't been anything put in it yet. There was another story of someone else having done the same thing but the way they phrased it, they made it sound like the already were able to start a purchase. Been checking a couple times a day and it has been empty. I don't know if anyone in the Metro Detroit area also has access to the R1 Shop sees any R1Ts in it.

I got my first 'hey take one sooner' and right now there are 5 on there in configs I'm not interested in (missing off-road stuff)

So I must admit, I'm becoming less and less enamored withe the R1T. The kitchen/tent was the main reason it had spousal approval factor but now it's fading fast, and combined with the charging reports coming out of the 135 battery pack, the larger battery pack could be a 1 Hr to 1.5 Hr charge from 10/15% - 80%.

The fact that no details have been forthcoming on it at all either wonders if this will be the next 'hey we deleted this from your configuration' email that I get.

Trying to stay pumped for it, but it's not working for me anymore.

I’m feeling less and less pumped about it as well. 2023 will bring some interesting ICE competition. New Tacoma, supposedly Land Cruiser, GX, etc.

Been checking the shop every day multiple times a day and it's always empty. Does Rivian send out a blast when new stuff drops or is there a specific time of the day I need to be looking?

I was a max pack preorder holder, got shop access in late July or early August 2022 and snagged a large pack. This access is nothing new. I was told shop access is based on order date and location.

I do have a second preorder currently configured for an R1S but seriously thinking of switching to R1T Max pack.

Is the range you get from the large pack not quite enough?

I’m actually finding large pack range is currently more than enough for my current needs and I’m very happy with my decision and purchase.

However, I’ve been driving EV’s since 2011. Range is king and considering battery degradation and the fact that I tend to keep my vehicles for long periods, max pack remains tempting. That said my second preorder currently remains an R1S Large Pack.
