My first error messages arrive at 10,325 miles!

Jean Luc, my beloved R1S has given me my first error messages. Other than a rear window latch adjustment at 7500 mile service it’s been a carefree ride. Accompanied by lots of weird clicking the first message came as I tried to take ride height from auto. The performance message popped up after shifting from park to reverse. After soft reset and hard reset a service ticket has been opened. Worst part was being told not to drive until it’s resolved leaving me juggling with husband to drive his Musk Mobile. Has anyone else experienced these messages? Resolution?

Some people have gotten the dreaded turtle before. It could be one of several different things.

If you leave the vehicle and then get back into it. When you put your foot on the brake and attempt to put it in gear, look at the left side of the driver's display. It should briefly show a much more specific reason for the error(s).

Another way to review errors is to top on the bell icon on the infotainment display.

An undriveable vehicle is something Rivian should tow your vehicle for - have them tow it to Eastvale for a more urgent appt.

Update: Alerted service center that a 3/17 date did not work as we are moving to Texas that week and it would require major life reorganization! Eastvale promptly dispatched a tow truck and it was in the shop for a week. Then it was delivered to my house, all free as I’m still under warranty. The invoice stated they tightened hub to knuckle fasteners in four places. I have been in Texas through all of this so still haven’t driven the vehicle. I’m hoping all is well as the drive from Yorba Linda to Corpus Christi is rapidly approaching. Happy with the quick turnaround from the service center, constant communication while in the shop, and the home delivery while I was out of town.

On another note - any Rivian owners in Corpus Christi on the forum? I’ve only seen one black R1S, so it may be a little lonely…?

Great! We bought a house on the island with a boat dock. You can stop by for a beer when you are boating around. Mine’s a forest green R1S that will be quickly getting Texas plates!
