Hi,
Just wanted to share for those about to pick up a new G2 R1S or considering it. I took folks advice and brought the check lists which are exhaustive but found that I really didn't have the time to really check every usb port etc, so I started with looking for issues that Rivian Might say occurred during my ownership. So I looked for scratches, dents, glass chips, and seat tears, stains in the liner or seats. I would suggest those who don't have extra helpers coming with them, or the time/patience to follow the full check lists.

What I found
1) Some stains in the interior roof l ining and on the seats. Some they got out there, others they were not able to.
2) Deep gauge one one of the wheels, which was hard to spot because the car was parked in the shade.
3) over 1 inch long scratch on the black part of the roof (probably polishes out)
No dents or glass chips from what I could see.

Suggestions
1) Try to see if your ride can be inspected in a sunny spot, will be easier to pick up issues. If you are super type A, bring a flashlight as shining on the darker trim pieces can be helpful.
2) Have the Rivian App installed and have them walk you though setting up your phone (mine required a reset before the vehicle registered me as the owner). If i ran into this at home, it might have been a time killer.
3) Have them show you how to access the parking assists, though simple, its good to know.
4) Don't let them skip the initial walk through prompts that Rivian provides. When I got my wife first drove the car, it walked her through steps like comfort exit, which I didn't know was an option, bc these steps were skipped.

Regarding NACS adapters for new pick up, I was told to look out for the email in the next 10 days to opt in. You don't get it at delivery and there was. no promise on the time frame from opt-in to delivery.

So Summary +:
1) Go with help is you can , more eyes, the "more better: :)
2) Take. pics of the vehicle so you can go back latter to prove if a cosmetic issue or otherwise, was there or not.
3) Look for the stuff you could be blamed for, all the other stuff is covered under warranty and should be addressed without hassle (hopefully).
4) Take time with the person who is assigned to help you to get to know the vehicle. Ask them what are important things you should know so they can point things out. If you are there with your sig other etc, they can help get them set up as well, just save time for that.
5) They Don't let you drive the vehicle before you officially own it (at least thats what they told me)
6) NACS process for new deliveries is wait for the opt-in email. No other confirmation on time frame.
7) Fit and finish of the RS1 was way way better than expecting (not expecting the scratch on the wheel)

Hope this helps someone else to make the best use of their hour.

I haven’t heard that happening around here. Driving the actual car you are about to buy, before you buy it, is exceptionally basic.

They said you couldn’t drive it?

I asked if I could drive it. He told me that I can't until all the paperwork is done and I've signed off on the car. So of course there is an issue that i found when driving it home, called my guide told to set up an appt. Next SC appt will be NOV, but found a mobile serve appt hoping they can say it needs to be brought in bc of potential safety issues, otherwise Ill not be driving it around bc of my concern. Other members mentioned the same, but I thought I would try. I guess I could have been more adamant :(
