Delivered early on October 18th! A little shy of 2 months from custom order to delivery isn't bad at all. And I got the NACS in the adapter before the vehicle. So, all good. Only negatives I'm working through are the sound quality (premium audio) and my phone won't sync up for the key (but does for bluetooth audio).

On the audio, I put in some EQ settings I saw on another thread and it greatly improved it, but I'll tinker a little more. I figured there were some perfectionists on here and Reddit and I'd be fine with the audio, but it's crazy muddy and just blah on any of the default settings. With the custom EQ setting I'm using now it's much better.

For the key, I'm running the public beta of iOS 18.1 on my iPhone so it's likely that, which is on me. I'll try rolling that back to see if it fixes it.

And the Rivian Service Center rep that helped me at delivery called today to check how I was doing and if I had any issues. They tried to help with the key, but agreed it was likely the iOS beta. So, even though they haven't been able to help, I appreciate the service and the call to check in. Nice touch.

So, overall really happy the R1S seems awesome so far!

Thank you for posting all of this! I was wondering how accurate the timeline was, places my r1s order on October 16th and it says October-November timeline. So far no contact at all from them, but I have reached out and they told me that the current time frame is pretty accurate!

My understanding is they build by batch so it can vary depending on what you order, but I think a lot of posts with really long waits are from original builds when they were ramping up, orders made when the factory shut down for retooling, and new configurations they weren’t building yet (like the Tri Max that is now out). I’m not sure of that but it seems like the waiting is mostly past for more standard builds. The 2 months I waited was less time than I’ve waited for Tesla or BMW for past purchases. Keep in mind I originally had Aug-Sep estimate at order and they called me to say it was going into production near the last day of Sept. I then had delivery in mid Oct. It was technically later than original, but it’s an estimate and I think in bounds and normal. So, I recommend patience.

One more thing to close out my post about my purchase wait and experience. It turns out my phone key pairing issue was not due to the iOS beta and appears to be a missed provisioning step during build for the proximity sensors. They’re going to try to fix it remotely next week. It would be nice if that didn’t happen. It’s dampened the excitement of the new vehicle a little bit but Rivian’s attention to it has been really great. So in the end I’ll be happy. It’s a great ride.

Thanks for the update! I'm sorry that pairing issue happened. We have a pretty standard build, standard battery pack, air compressor, premium audio and dark ash interior. Wheels are sport brights. Hoping I have a similar wait time to you.
