New: Third row heated seats in 2025 R1S Gen 2 Refresh Model

I'm excited about this. We have three kids and the one in the 3rd row often gets cold in the winter. Rivian doesn't have actual heat in the third row! Just a recirculating fan! unless they upgraded this in Gen2. Having seat heaters will help those in the rear stay toasty. Wonder if it's just the base of seat or also the back of the seat. I'm guessing just the base.

I think they are going after Kia with this option. They kind of pioneered this on the Palisades and telluride

That is an excellent feature. It's rare for the third row to be heated.

Agree. Excellent feature. I assume this was a relatively inexpensive upgrade for Rivian since they are losing tons of money on each vehicle sold and are looking to cut costs. I think this feature will further set them apart from the competitors, which is a good thing for Rivian.

I took delivery of Gen 2 RIS today. There is no setting to activate the third row heated seats. This is listed as standard interior equipment for all 2025 models. The guy at delivery didn't know anything about it. I asked the employees in the service center and they didn't know about third row heated seats for Gen 2 either.

You would think they receive a quick tutorial on the Gen 2 changes. Has anyone else taken delivey and looked at third row heated seats? Is this coming in a later software update?

Who needs seat warmers in Miami? I prefer ventilated seats in all rows. More/bigger AC vents. B pillar vents.

1. Climate menu
2. Select desired row
3. Tap desired seat to activate the heated seat. Keep tapping to adjust the heating level.

If you can't activate them, are your seats folded? When my 3rd row is folded, I can't activate the seat heaters through the menu.
