I have owned my R1T for just one week, and finally decided to try some of the other drive modes for fun. I was on a gravel road so wanted to see the high suspension setting so tried some of the off-road modes. All was fine until I drove up the road and the truck felt like it hit the brakes. I thought something was wrong, but then saw a message on the screen that the max speed is 32 km/h. Did some quick googling and see that this is the limit for off-road use (20 MPH), and that is the first time I have seen that despite spending some time in the forum before buying. Not sure about anyone else but I often drive >20MPH on dirt roads so that basically means I have to use the on-road options only, right?

Also, how is Rivian flicking the truck sideways and spraying gravel all over when in rally/drift modes if this truck can only do 20 MPH?

That is only in the highest ride height, lower it down 1 and it will br fine.

Also in high for All-Purpose and snow modes it drops to standard above 45 mph.

Dirt roads and gravel roads are still "roads" and in no way require the off-road modes.

The speed restriction is only for the highest suspension setting. "High" allows faster.

Thanks, I was just testing out the modes but the 'highest' restriction is good to know.

In the higher ride modes, the truck will be also less stable if you’re flinging it hard into a turn. You’ve raised the center of gravity significantly, and it’s more likely you could potentially could roll the truck as well. So they probably do it for liability reasons.
