Ordering tires + wheels from Gear Shop?

I have OEM 21” tires on my R1T and am interested in picking up some winter tires and an extra set of wheels.

The gear shop shows “20 inc All-Terrain Wheel and Tire Set” for $4400 with these additional bullet points

• Custom Pirelli tires for all-terrain capability
• 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certified
• Estimated 40 mi range reduction
• Installation at a Rivian service center included

When I called to order, the phone rep indicated he had never sold a set of these and had to spend more than an hour researching it before calling me back.

Now the service center is saying, in a fairly clear case of false advertising, the $4400 is for the tires/wheels only, installation is extra.

Has anyone had experience actually buying a second set of tires/wheels from the Rivian Gear Shop?

Thanks for the info! Was that out the door w/ sales tax? The gear shop has those 20” AT darks for $5400…with 5-6% sales tax that’d be right around $5700.

Did the TPM sensors come included in the tire/wheel package or did they add those on as a separate line item on your work order? Gear Shop shows these are $90/each.

I too bought my R1T with the 21s and quickly wanted to swap to the 20” ATs. After a couple of months of ownership, I had a number of items I wanted addressed so I contacted Rivian Service and they built out a ticket for me, including the new wheels. There were no issues with them adding the wheel swap. I’m attaching my invoice from the wheels, although this was September of 2023, so I don’t know if the prices are the same. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Seems the confusion was the initial work order added 4 wheels and 4 tires as two separate line items. The service center updated the work order with the wheel/tire package (and also the 4x center caps) similar to elindley01’s work order.

One difference I see is I’m looking to keep my 21’s as a summer set and add the 20” as a winter set, vs a replacement.

I couldn't find my receipts, but I'm pretty sure it's out the door with the sensors included. I did purchase my R1T before the price hike, not sure if my wheel price was lower due to that

I purchased a set of 20’s (which are now listed for sale in classified section. ) and Rivian completed the install by mobile service. I’d have to do some digging for the receipt, but don’t remember paying more than the listed price and tax.

Unless you wanna really spend $5-6000 on a set of winter wheels you can fully get a set of 20” with dedicated snow tires for half the price of OEM from tire rack or discount tire - and even go with 275/60r20 - so you don’t have to worry about adjusting your speedometer.

But if you’re looking for OEM only I would definitely request a mobile service install and not go to an SC.

These tires are not far under $500 each (look them up on Tire Rack). The wheels are forged. Forged wheels generally cost $600+. 4400 is actually a decent price.

I need tires and I bought a set of 20 at brights

Rivian gave me a free spare

I sold the darks for 3500.00 set 4

I just ordered a gen 2 max quad

I will probably keep my brights

In June 2023 I purchased just the wheels. They allowed me to do this through pick up at the Miami SC. I said I do not want the tires, just the wheels. I got the 20” brights for $2222.

I called about getting the wheels only and they quoted me prices. First guy said I could use my Rivian Gear shop credit towards the purchase, second guy said I couldn't. Every time I talk to someone at Rivian I get a different answer.
