Do systems such as these work in tight spaces? Humble brag: I’ve parked regularly in NYC with inches on either side of me. Takes forever. Also I’m stubborn and refuse to pay for parking.
Inches? Amateur!
I had this on my Chrysler Pacifica a few years ago. I liked playing with it but for me it was just that - a toy. Not a necessity for anyone who learned to drive in NY. My wife learned in NJ, where apparently an orange cone 100 feet away passes as "parallel parking," so it did come in handy for her. It was much slower than I was, but I did like that it would give me a warning that there was an available spot as I would drive by. That being said, there were plenty of times it wouldn't recognize a spot as being large enough that I was able to park in. The perpendicular parking was a bigger problem. It always seemed to me that it was going to hit one of the cars in the adjacent spots so I would always take over myself.

You haven't lived until you've parallel parked a 5-speed on a hill with cars waiting to pass you (I grew up in San Francisco).

Don't forget to mention the art of using hand brake with MT on a steep hills. :)
