My daughter and her partner purchased Rivian and set their phones as keys. I am also driving the car and would like to use my phone as a key and have access to the rest of the app functionality (which is very limited compared with Tesla).
To my immense surprise, there is a limit of 2 keys. It is clearly done by design because I can't imagine that software keys could have limitations in how are enabled. I am not sure what the designers had in mind by introducing this artificial limit but it is super annoying and absolutely not warrened. I called Rivian support and they told me they don't know where and why it was done this way. Maybe, maybe :( in the future, they will change it. I prefer it to be changed in the very next application update, I doubt that there is a need to change car software (if there is I am afraid I would be uncomfortable trusting Rivian developed in the rest of the functionality).
Question: does anyone know how to escalate the issue to people who could actually do something about it?

It's probably a bluetooth hardware limitation but I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.

Potentially, but this is generally for simultaneous connections, and remember that the FOB counts as another connection. I feel there could be a way to intelligently switch between available keys programmatically, much like many audio systems switch multiple devices between one single connection.

I don't see why it would be a hardware limit to have more devices paired. A limit on active connections, sure but that's not what phone key is.

They've said that coming up soon will be the ability to share more keys with friends and family. That's part of what the latest app update was to enable.

There should be no hardware limitation for how many devices could connect via Bluetooth. I suspect there is a limit of 1 of concurrent connections which is not something I would suggest changing even if it were possible. However, what I would change is the order a car automatically connects when more than one device is sensed. AFAIK it does it in hardcoded order, what would be better in my opinion is the order of usage. For example, if I opened a car it is probably me who would lock it. Now regardless of who opened the car, it connects to a device according to the predefined order.

That would be great. Do you have information regarding this update? And where generally upcoming updates are advertised and is there a place to submit feature requests?

Specifically for PAAK (and thus driver profile settings), the latest software connects to the phone nearest the driver's door when unlocking/entering the vehicle. I would guess the same would be for the phone connected to BT for things like the phone and audio.

I believe this tidbit was from a Reddit AMA that the VP of Software participated in recently. There is no formal method of submitting requests, other than through CS or your Guide. The problem with having a more formal method is dealing with the junk that would end up in there, and trying to process/sort through it. I think they believe that their employee owner base of several hundred people is representative enough for the population at large. I doubt there is much more than 10,000 people can dream up that 1,000 people can't. It certainly seemed like most requests in that AMA were already on their radar and they were not surprised at any of them. Many things have likely been on the roadmap since before production started, they just had to prioritize because resources are finite.

This feature was more about the function of assigning keys to individuals. Before this update you couldn't, for example, assign a keycard to a secondary driver. Now you can. This update did not add the ability to pair any more keys of any type.
