Hmmm so they actually have done deliveries at Duncan already? Good to know, lots of places hadn't yet.

I wish I could schedule on the 24th. I’d take my loaner from Tesla Service down there while I’m waiting for my truck and do a demo drive

I was told mine will arrive on the 27th but maybe that's just a rouse....

I picked up yestereday, was their 3rd delivery they said, they have like 14 scheduled over the next 10 days they said. 2 were in the shop getting prepped when I was there. A GW with 20" AT, and a HMG with 21" I should of looked at the VIN's better, I think they were both in the 16XX area, I do remember they were only like 4 or 5 VIN's apart.

Someone on FB who already picked up their own R2 from Duncan can still schedule a demo drive in Duncan on July 23-24. I still can’t

A few weeks ago I had checked daily to get a demo drive slot at our closest location (Richmond), but they were always booked up.

Then I realized I was always checking in the evenings, after work.

Turns out, the demo drives open up exactly 48 hours prior. So at 9am on Monday, the spot at 9am on Wednesday would become available...then another at 930am...and another at 1000am. They would open up like clockwork (literally).

Once I figured this out it made it really easy to get any spot that worked with our schedule.

But demand for demo drives must have calmed since then, as I see tons of openings at that location now.

Where in NC are you? I need to get some measurements eventually so I can get my wrap design finalized before I have my R2

Maybe they are giving demo rides in the delivery R2s before the owners shows up and none the wiser. Could explain the limited demo time slots.

I checked the Duncan site through the Rivian app a few times today with no luck. I just checked again and it shows available times on July 20th. Doesn’t help me but it might others.

A few weeks ago someone pointed out to me that their location was opening slots exactly 24hrs ahead of time. After that insight, I also initially found this to be the case, but then they shifted to 3 days out (still at the same time). They've now moved to 5 days out, at least for some locations that I've checked.

Yeah, no way is that happening..... too many miles racked up on demo drives would invalidate the new vehicle paperwork that is part of the sale (wouldn't you be annoyed/pissed if your new car turned out to have a few hundred miles on it?)

Looked at my app just now and they’ve added the closest service center to me in Duncan SC as a pop up demo drive location.
Currently no slots available so I’ll just keep looking I guess!

They need to pop one up at the Groveport, Ohio SC (suburb of Columbus), so I don’t have to drive to Indiana. Not that that wouldn’t be a fun little road trip (over 5 hours round trip to test drive a vehicle for 30 minutes)!
