We have an R1S Dual Max Gen 2. The Rivian app is very slow to wake/unlock the car even when I'm standing next to it in our Home location. We turned off Home location Proximity lock after our new R1S returned from the service center after the whole system needing replacement. Sometimes it needs multiple taps and when it finally unlocks the camera or sensors may go off. We don't have issues when we walk away in a parking lot but it's a problem at Home and why we decided to turn off Proximity at Home. The key card works well at Home though.

Today I decided to turn on Proximity at Home. After doing that it doesn't autolock when we walk away. This was the same issue in the first week of getting the new R1S after which the system failed and cameras nothing worked. We had to escalate to have it taken to the service center.

The mobile app is incredibly slow at Home and our car is parked in the driveway next to the house. This is really a pain because the phone unlock doesn't work even in warm weather and waking it has nothing to do with cold temperatures. Not sure if there is a solution or a fix for this.

Since gen 1 and gen 2 use radically different locking systems, it would probably help to specify that.

Some of the things to check off: have you done a vehicle reset? What are your settings for lock behavior at home?

In the vehicle settings menu there are options to auto lock (or not) in addition to what to do at home.
