To any of those in Socal who have taken delivery of their R1T:

1). are our freeways "mapped"

2). I am actually wondering if i will be able to use driver + on my daily drive. I mainly want it to do the start stop, go with the curve of the freeway.

3). The route I usually take is 57 to 60 to 605, to 210 to Pasadena. Rinse and repeat. With my Tesla, i get in the car pool lane and put it in autodrive pretty regularly.

Best

I've used it now for a couple months. I have used it on all of the freeways listed except the 605. although it is there there are sections that are not mapped so you will have portions where it works then disengage and further down the road its available again. There are times where the same spot you where at yesterday using it is not available the next day. Don't know why that occurs just odd.

It follows the curves well however there are sections like the 210 at the 605 interchange where road construction took place and the old lines are not completely removed the truck will get confused and start to follow the old lines then shift back to the new lines. FYI

Couple flaws especially with our traffic flow it leaves to much space in between the cars and you get cutoff the truck reacts like it should but the sudden braking is annoying when it only need to be a couple feet closer to prevent it. Also when traffic slows down and then speeds up it speeds up to slow not even close to matching the cars in front and again you get cut off and if the timing right you get cutoff over and over again. The truck slows down for each occurrence widening the gap. so I will hit the accelerator as traffic speeds up to mitigate the effect.

Overall it works well and very nice to have with stop and go traffic. just needs a little more refining and hopefully lane change.
