Yes, I am really pleased with the pricing.

I wasn’t sure what they were going to do either. What I assumed they would do would be to offer the same pre-March base price, but charge full price of $10k for the max pack option. But they didn’t, it’s discounted to $7 (I had said six in my original post, that was my mistake). So I am really happy about. I know $7k is $7k either way, and this is just in my head, but to me it feels not as bad either because it sort of rounds to being an $80k car from either side, so it doesn’t feel as bad. Obviously that’s just optics, but it helps me :)

For pre-March preorder holders it’s only a $6k option, bringing total configuration price for my R1S to 83,950. I am definitely glad I waited. Large pack would be fine and I would have been happy with it, but it’s worth it for me.
That is indeed a good deal! Patience pays off sometimes!

Ditto! I had the same question. My order is from Oct 2021 and Dual Performance is $2500 extra for me.

(Quad is $1500 extra, which seems kind of bizarre but I think somehow that squares my pricing; effectively, compared to pre-March Quad-only pricing, Dual Perf is $1k more and Dual is $1.5k less.)

Yes, it’s a different deal for the T and S. I originally had a Max pack T reserved and saw the same thing / difference. If you try changing to the S, you’ll see it, too (but don’t save the change in the configurator, after looking around). I asked my guide if I could NOT get the Performance version in the S, in order to save $, but he said it’s simply not an option for the S right now (due to having the pre-price increase reservation deal).

Well that makes it even easier of a choice....

I'm surprised that they are allowing pre-March 1st pricing people to switch from R1T Max Pack to the R1S Max Pack.

We were originally going for the R1T Max but switched over to the R1S Max when it was announced.

I love the fact they are allowing it. Now that we finally have real numbers on the max pack and the PTC is delayed until no one knows, we can make an informed decision.

Powered tonneau cover, which is basically a deal breaker for me on the r1s.
I used to think that until I added a PTC to my Lightning and it became a PITA whenever it iced over. Would much prefer a folding cover in a cold climate.

Maybe I should rephrase; hard tonnaue cover is a deal-breaker. I would *really* like to have a motorized one. But if it has to be manuel, I don't want a lot of rigamaroll with slats OR folding it up only to lose 1/3 of the bed area.
