Open question to the forum, you are all so knowledgeable and helpful! I’ve got an R1S with 22” Rims and the Pirelli Scorpion tires, my local tire guy who is a Nokian dealer said park it in the garage if you plan on driving it in winter or up to any ski mountains. I live in Westport Connecticut, our winters are pretty tame however I drive north on weekends to ski either in the Berkshires or Southern Vermont where snow and temperatures can still be extreme. I’d ultimately like to extend my range if possible with smaller rims, Rivian tech said the 20” rims with appropriate sized tires would give me more range then what I currently have with the stock 22” rims and tires. To keep things simple for me I’d like to use a set of 20” rims from Rivian as I know the offset and other items shouldn’t be an issue. Wondering what size tire to go with and if anyone has any recommendations. I’m 1.5-2 hours from the nearest SC, so I’m ok with one trip to reset the computer to new wheel and tires, but I definitely want to get more range! Any thoughts or suggestions.
I’ve been very lucky I’ve had my R1 for 2 months and have had no problems! I would love to be able to get 10-15% more then I currently get which is max 270-280 on a good day in conserve mode.
