Test drove a tri-motor yestarday and was seriously impressed. The power of it is excessive. I wasn't able to test it across my usually driving routes and traffic was a pain so I still am unsure, but I wanted some feedback on wheel and tire recommendations.

The vehicle I drove had the 20" ATR tires. I want to order the same and switch the ATR tires for Michelin Defender M/S2's for better noise and efficiency. But I noticed the 20" ATR was a bit squirly and almost too floaty. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Will the Defender tires help reduce the squirly handling under hard throttle? Should I go for the 22's instead? I want something that feels controlled with excellent NVH, which is why I thought 20" + road tires might be the sweet spot.

Please let me know what yo'll think.

I got the 22’s with mine, and the reason why is I believe the purpose of the tri is to be the one that feels fastest. The new quad is faster, but if it’s anything like the old quad it will feel more planted and safe because of the equal power distribution. The tri has substantial rear power bias and as such it feels more aggressive and is more fun to beat on.

I wanted the more stable tires and if anything I’ll pick up the staggered Michelin tires that are on offer on the new quad when those become available.

Get the 20s if you plan to take it off road as the increased sidewall and additional tire options will be good there. I can't speak to the Michelin tires mentioned.

If you don't plan to take it off road then the 22s are the best choice. Of course if you plan occasional off road use you could but it with the 20s and then purchase a set of 22s separately and swap them out when needed.
