Precisely. You can also have an interior and exterior input to the xfer switch, so I can always switch to a generator if the RIvian isn’t putting out enough power.

Transfer switch and a sub panel is the best route. That is what we had with a propane generator as a back up. Went solar and batteries, so the genset is gone. Back to the original thread.

Love my R1T, not sure Rivian will make it on their own, but that hasn't stopped me from ordering an R1S as well......

That’s correct. Reverse charge not here yet

how did you resolve this "Wind noise around windows > RESOLVED"?

The wind noise came from a plastic panel next to the A pillar which was sticking out. They replaced them.

Chemical smell > RESOLVED

How did you fix this? I just returned from a vacation and the car sat for like 9 days and smells awful inside now.

My frunk has this issue, but I don't notice it inside the cab. (Also has a chemical smell in the spare tire space)

• When will Rivian have V2H (Vehicle to Home) charging?
  • It already does. Jeff mentioned that this is largely marketing and that most EVs can do this today. The real trick is installing a bidirectional charger. If you have one of those, you can do it today.

I have the Kia bidirectional charger; like this one

Am I to assume this would work w/the Rivian? I think the answer is no b/c aside from hardware which may/may not be capable, there is no software option to put "power out" (V2L)....
