If only we could manually go into kneel mode, all this would be irrelevant.

FWIW, if you put it into park in kneel mode outside the garage and then pulled in, I don't think it raises out of kneel mode until you go a certain speed and/or distance. Mine is still kneeling when I leave the driveway. I would not choose which model to buy based on that behavior, though, since a OTA update could always change it. An OTA update could also give you "Lowest" mode, too.
Stays in kneel until you hit 5 mph.

I took delivery (lease) of the base DM this month if you need more measurements. Im on the 21” tire.

Regarding performance it’s incredible as is. Puts a grin on everones face. My poor-mans performance mode is reduce stability which seems to make it a bit snappier off the line.

That being said, i am interested enough to stay tuned on the performance software update. Like you, not worth full sticker price on the lease, but if they do something prorated or subscription based it could be an option.

Very helpful to know. I've got bad knees, so kneel mode will probably be used quite a bit. Right now, getting out of my Volvo S60 is a literal pain, because it's so low. Getting in and out of the R1T when I did the demo drive was much easier on the knees.

I would say a subscription or one-time cost > initial purchase price are the two most likely outcomes for it. Hopefully for base DM lease owner's sakes it's a subscription. Then it might be worth it, since you are putting money in for your own enjoyment, but not permanently dumping value into a car that's not technically yours.
