Hey everyone, I just installed the EV Base running boards to my R1T. I think they look great and will be very useful getting in and out of my truck, especially for my wife. My question is: is there any reason why I would want to try and cut and reinstall the original underbody panels that were removed? Or, is it perfectly fine to just leave them off? Thanks!

I didn't like hearing every single grain of sand that hit without them. But the cut is a pain.

Otherwise I doubt there's a good reason. Maybe aero? Lol

I didn’t think about there being any aero benefit…

The plastic covers are only for aerodynamics and tiny improvement to range. They are not really needed outside of being aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, it’s really pretty simple to mark and cut them.
