BAM! Got the time to configure email and now have a guide as of today. Let the floodgates open!

Today, I received an email titled, "Get a R1T sooner" from Rivian. Something magical is happening...



I guess my guide put in a request for me to gain access to the R1 shop.



You know what I say, Bring it!!!

I got the email to get it sooner too; although I think I'm going to go with the Lightning instead.

I got the "Get an R1T sooner" e-mail on Feb 6th (along with the ability to schedule a first drive). I was granted access 2 days later on Feb 8th.

My original estimate (from October '22) was April-June '23. End of January estimate got moved back to July-September '23. This was probably due to having the ocean coast (with white dash) option configured.

Once I did the first drive, I ended up choosing an available configuration from the R1 shop a few days ago and started the purchase process. There was a decent selection of configurations for the few days I had access.

Sweet! From my email, i should be granted access to the shop in a few weeks but who knows perhaps it will be in a couple of days. I am betting on under promising and over delivering. I received the email yesterday.

R1 shop opened up and I found close to exact config minus MTC. Started steps and super excited that it might be here by next month. Confirmed via Vin that it’s a 2023.

Let me start with the Dr. Evil pinky finger to my lips and Bwwwwaahaaahaaaa!!!!!!

Got an invite to the R1 shop yesterday and it was a smorgasbord of R1Ts just waiting to be plucked. All colors were available and had at least 3 variants per color on interior/exterior. Interesting the only ones that had the 21's was the FE color variant. Saw my configuration with the exception of the rims being the 20AT. I even saw configurations in midnight (i heard it calling me to come the dark side) and not to be left out with El Cap with interior and 20AT's. My wife said hold out for your build with the 21's but secretly I wanted the 20's especially with the recent software update.
She heckled me incessantly/relentlessly for 2 hours to hold out but the call to me was too strong, Oh, felt just too right and I followed my heart and pulled the trigger! (and besides I could save up and get a set of 21 inch rims used later and fight the wife again lol). What factored for me was the greater selection of tires in 20 inch and pricing range versus being locked into only 1-2 21 inch tires at almost $500/tire.
Soon as I locked in the configuration the 8 steps opened immediately and I also got a "Schedule your delivery" email. FREAKIN INSANE! And my pinky is still at my lips as I smiled broadly in anticipation.
I could be leaving space dock in a week a la Star Trek style, all slow with the overture glaring in the background.
Okay, now that I got those big feelings out, time to get those steps done. Stay in the fight my brothers and keep your granola dry!
