R1T towing across Michigan

Moving our daughter from the Keweenaw down to Ann Arbor to start at UofM. Central UP is a charging desert. Trip from Houghton to Escanaba was slow, due to unknown charging status at Shell charger in Escanaba. Turns out we would have been fine, charger worked perfectly and was quite quick.

We’ve been really happy with the efficiency towing a loaded Go (every storage space we had available was also packed). Typical was 1.7 to 1.8 miles per kWh. Worse when near Detroit, when going 75 to 80, averaging around 1.5.

Really happy with this towing combination, I highly recommend it (great camper too).

Yes it is, most chargers run the expressway along the lake.once over the bridge a few options and a RAN in Midland, EvGo there also and Tesla is closed to us at that location. Once you hang right to US23 just south a flint I think there are a few more options.

Good to see another rivian using the GO! I just finished upgrading mine for off road use. Inspired by the new Sylvan GOAT (GO Anywhere Trailer) I figured that I could retro fit mine for about $2k and not have to invest in a new one.

Upgrades:
1. All terrain wheels and tires
2. Diamond plate sides
3. Diamond plate fenders
4. Fender side marker lights
5. Cargo Rack & spare tire
6. 24” stabilizers to make up for the increased clearance
7. Back diamond plate “door” to keep stuff secure
8. Extensions for rear step (to make up for the increased height)

Still looking for my first chance to take it out and get it dirty.
